Daniel Shirley

Daniel Shirley joins Russ Brown each weekday at lunch for the Midday Sports Zone on Middle Georgia’s ESPN. Shirley is the managing editor for The Athletic Atlanta. Daniel previously worked at newspapers in Anderson, S.C., Valdosta, Albany, and Macon, serving as the sports editor in Albany and Macon for a combined 18 years before a short stint as an editor at DawgNation/SEC Country. Daniel was born in Valdosta and grew up in South Carolina, graduating from Clemson in 1993. He and his wife, Laura, have two sons, Ben and Matt.
